Who We Are

The Latin American and Caribbean Community Center’s overall vision is to address and represent issues (globalization, racist and discriminatory legislations, free trade agreements, migration, etc.) for communities that the mainstream Latino, Caribbean and social justice organizations exclude from their programs, especially descendants of Africa.  The Latin American and Caribbean Community Center empowers communities of color, in particular, Afro Descendants with information on race, class and exclusion.

Our mission is to Educate and Organize for Human Rights, Democracy and Racial Justice in the Americas.

Our History

The Latin American and Caribbean Community Center has in the past four years experienced steady influence and effectiveness in regards to creation of awareness and conciousness development, both in the state of Georgia as well as nationally and internationally. The organization was formed in September of 2003 as a community-based organization to address the diverse political, economic and cultural needs of the growing primarily  Afro Latinos, but also Latino and Caribbean populations in Georgia and the South.  A small collective of concerned Afro Latinos with political and cultural ties to the Caribbean and Latin America and with a 100% volunteer staff launched the LACCC with the mission to empower the marginalized communities and people of Latin America and the Caribbean who reside in the United States so that they may assert the full scope of their human rights including economic, political, environmental, cultural and social rights.

Hi. I would like to see in your information what is happening in Venezuela and its government. 160.000 people have been killed in eleven years that Chavez is there because the violence in the streets is growing each day and the regimen doesn’t do any thing because Chavez gave guns to delinquents to creat a special army to control the ones that are not in his political movement. The delincuence is uncontrolable and inocent people are killed every day.
I have been research this situation for four years and I know what is realy happend there. I am journalist, but I write in Spanish.
Thanks for your attention.
